Resistance Wire is the most producible material in the metallic industries due its large demand in the heating applications. Resistance wire has multipurpose applications and can be implanted to several things that can withstand large temperature and electric potentials. The Nichrome resistance wire is a trade name of superior combination of Nickel and Chromium making a non magnetic alloy. The alloy constitutes of 80% Nickel and 20% chromium though there are several other nichrome alloys containing different composition of nickel and chromium to satisfy the requirements of various applications.
Nichrome is a silvery grey color alloy, resistant to corrosion and possesses large melting point up to 1400 degree Celsius. It's extremely large resistivity in all environments as well as against oxidation at large temperatures, this wire is used in the production of heating equipments like hair dryers, ovens and toasters. Mostly, Nichrome is obtained as Nichrome heatingwire loops to a particular electrical resistance and current flown through the circuit to generate heat.
The heating property produces heat with the passage of current in the wire following the joules law of heating. The electric current passing through the metal goes through the resistance offered by metallic atoms that cause production of heat in the wire.

PTC ceramic is called by its positive thermal coefficient of resistivity. The ceramics generally has the negative value of coefficient whereas the metals possess positive value. Since the metallic elements show more resistive nature in the high temperature conditions or can say their resistance value increases with the increase in temperature. PTC ceramics shows the non uniform thermal nature therefore it shows highly resistive when kept at a temperature more than its threshold temperature. This nature becomes the reason for this element to treat like a thermostat because it doesn't allow current to pass through it when it is hot and when it is cold only the current passes through it.
