Wire Shaping, Rewinding Spooling, Polishing and Cleaning

Flat Wire

We have extensive facilities for producing high quality flat wire to tight tolerances. We have five rolling mills, equipped with edge-rolling and laser gauging, to ensure exact measurements. The standard finish is round edge flat wire, but squared edges can be produced as required.

We can produce flat wire up to 8.00mm wide and 3.00mm thick. Softer materials can be rolled into larger sections.

Depending on requirements, the flat wire can be precision layer wound on spools to ensure a steady.

Square and Shaped Wire

The most commonly demanded is square wire, but we also produce half-round, hexagonal wire and elliptical cross-section wire.

Square wire is produced in stainless steel up to 4.0mm square, and larger for non-ferrous materials. Half-round wire is produced up to 5.00mm.

Rewinding and spooling

The company has invested in a range of handling equipment so that we can provide the wire in exactly the format required by our customer.

Wire can be supplied in coils of specified dimensions and weights. Additionally, we can supply the wire on spools (high strength thermoplastic bobbins) which are available in a range of standard sizes and weights.

An additional service of us is coil to spool rewinding, spool to spool rewinding, and for fine wire, specialized multi-head precision spooling.

Polishing and cleaning

As a direct response to customers' requirements for special surface finishes, we have equipped a range of surface finish and wire cleaning equipment;

Mechanical polishing – a purpose built line of bristle and pad rotating brushes to remove residues and impart a high polish to the wire.

Vibro-polishing – automatic wire cleaning, polishing, de-burring, drying and collection for short wire lengths or small wire/metal parts.

Vapour degreasing – hot vapour degreasing chamber for cut-to-length and coil wire cleaning.

In-Line Ultrasonic cleaning – a purpose built spool to spool continuous ultrasonic wire cleaner capable of high performance wire cleaning. Removes all traces of wire drawing lubricant and residues.
