Nickel Mesh Properties:

1: Nickel Mesh has Good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is most useful under reducing conditions.

2:Nickel Mesh has Outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis up to and including the molten state.

3: Nickel Mesh is Virtually immune to inter granular attack above 315C, chlorates must be kept to a minimum.

4: In acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions, Nickel Mesh shows good resistance, but in oxidising salt solutions severe attack will occur.

5: Nickel Mesh is Resistant to all dry gases at room temperature and in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride may be used in temperatures up to 550C.

6: Nickel Mesh has Resistance to mineral acids varies according to temperature and concentration and whether the solution is aerated or not. Corrosion resistance is better in de-aerated acid.

Nickel Mesh Applications:

1: Manufacture and handling of sodium hydroxide, particularly at temperature above 300C.

2: Production of viscose rayon. Manufacture of soap.

3: Analine hydrochloride production and in the chlorination of aliphatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, methane and ethane.
4: Manufacture of vinyl chloride monomer. 5: Storage and distribution systems for phenol - immunity from any for of attack ensures absolute product purity.

Expanded Nickel Mesh --- Types:

Standard Expanded Mesh:

The original and most popular type of expanded mesh with the familiar diamond shaped opening. The strands are turned at a sharp angle to the plane of the sheet giving a dimensional appearance to the finished material.

Flattened Expanded Mesh:

Is produced by passing standard mesh through heavy rolls that flatten the strands and bridges to provide an overall level surface. This process, which reduces the original thickness by approximately one gauge, delivers a product particularly suited to applications where a slidable surface is required.
