Inconel 600 Wire

Inconel 600 wire is a solid solution nickel chromium alloy for high temperature applications. Inconel 600 wire has good mechanical strength and can be used from cryogenic temperatures to 1200℃. It also has good corrosion resistance due to the high nickel content in combination with chromium. Typical applications: Heat treating muffles and retorts, heat treating baskets, chlorination equipment to 540℃, pulp mill alkaline digesters.

Inconel 600 wire corrosion resistance:

Inconel 600 wire has corrosion resistance to many corrosive media. Chromium content made it with better corrosion resistance than Nickel 99.2 (alloy200) and Nickel 99.2 (alloy201, low carbon) in the oxidize environment. Meantime, high Nickel content makes this alloy with good corrosion resistance in the reduction condition and alkaline solution, and also effective avoid chlorine-iron stress corrosion cracking.

Inconel 600 wire has good corrosion resistance in the acid, acetic acid, formic acid, stearic acid and other organic acid, with medium corrosion resistance in the inorganic acid. Especially excellent corrosion resistance to dry chlorine and chlorine hydride applied up to 650℃. When under the high temperature, annealing and state solution alloy have good antioxidant off and high-intensity in the air, Inconel 600 wire can resist the ammonia, nitriding and carburizing atmosphere, but at the turn of the changes in redox conditions.

Inconel 600 wire will be corrosion by parts of oxidation media.( such as green death liquid)

In feed water systems it is practically free of corrosion. It resists flowing sea water, but will corrode in stagnant sea water. Inconel 600 wire has fair resistance to sulphuric acid at room temperature, but should not be used in this application at elevated temperatures. Resistance to hydrochloric acid is similar to sulphuric acid.

Inconel 600 alloy wire has excellent resistance to phosphoric acid at room temperature in all concentrations, but is rapidly attacked at elevated temperature. Inconel 600 wire oxidation resistance:

Inconel 600 has good resistance to oxidation at high temperature. It out performs all other alloys for resistance to nitridation in cracked ammonia. It should not be used in sulphur containing atmospheres at high temperature, particularly if the conditions are reducing. It resists dry chlorine and hydrochloric acid gas at moderate temperatures.

Inconel 600 wire Application Fields:

1. Erosion thermocouple sheath of the atmosphere
2.Vinyl chloride monomer production: corrosion resistance to chlorine, hydrogen chloride, oxidation and carbonation.

3. Oxide shaft chloride converted to six fluorides: hydrogen fluoride anti-corrosion.

Inconel 600 wire High temperature applications:

Inconel 600 wire has excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. It is the standard material for nitriding containers because of its resistance to nitrogen at high temperatures. It also has good resistance to carburisation. Inconel 600 wire will resist attack by sulphur compounds at moderate temperatures, but is subject to sulphidation at higher temperatures. Lubricants containing molybdenum disulphide should not be used above 425℃. Inconel 600 wire is not embrittled by long exposures at high temperature.
