Introduction to Hastelloy C-276

Hastelloy C-276 is constituted of Nickel in 57% concentration, Molybdenum in 16%, Chromium in 15.5%, Iron in 5.5% and tungsten in 3.8%.The high performance alloy Hastelloy is produced in the following forms such as Hastelloy Wire, sheet, bar, plate, coil, fastener and forgings.

The nickel chromium molybdenum alloy is treated as the most flexible resistant alloy. The hastelloy opposes the production of grain to the precipitation in the welded affected zone that makes it appropriate for several chemical applications in the welding condition. Hastelloy is characterized as the alloy with superior resistance to pitting, stress corrosion cracking and it can perform in oxidizing atmospheres up to 1900 degrees F. Alloy C-276 offers extreme resistance to various chemical conditions.

Hastelloy bar or hastelloy sheet is famous for is extreme resistance to the damped chloride gaseous, hydrochlorite and chlorine solutions.
