Monel is basically constituted of Nickel by 67%, copper and iron and other elements in the balanced composition.This alloy was made by David H Home who was the chief metallurgist of global Nickel Company. Monel 400 alloy is the binary combination of same concentrations of Ni and Cu and this alloy is usually obtain along with the nickel mineral. Monel name was derived from the president Ambrose Monell of company and approved in 1906. One L character was discarded from the name to keep the alloy since in earlier days the trade names were not kept on the person's names.
