Molybdenum wire and various other molybdenum products like molybdenum tube, molybdenum mesh, and molybdenum plate have a discrete feature of powder metallurgy and they show rapid distortion process for grounding.
The traditional technology method of isolated pressure is usually a combination of molybdenum and molybdenum alloy powder that stays protected even at very large temperature of 2000-2200°C. The density of molybdenum wire increases with the degree of distortion. In the general forgings the circular bars and plates are utilized during the fabrication. The coarse yarn production, rolling at large temperature and drawing options and drawing preparation at the lower temperatures. Since Molybdenum wire has very high melting point of 2620°C, its sturdiness enables it to be used at the large temperatures range to 1900°C.
As per the processing surface, its contraction speed is different. The molybdenum can be treated at 800°C in processing, 800°C for recrystallization and 1800°C temperature can be used to obtain the large growth which results in the less strength and firmness.
Molybdenum wire is popularly used in several applications due to its high mechanical strength and steadiness.
Techniques to clean Molybdenum Wire
In order to obtain clean molybdenum wire with glossy and bright surface, there are two popular techniques: Electrolysis and hydrogen sintered cleaning method.
Electrolysis: In an electrolysis cleaning method, the cleansing of Molybdenum Wire is done with the support of electric voltage and in the presence of electrolytic solution. In this method electricity passes throughout the components, in which the metal acts as an electrode and it is partially submerged in the solution.
Cleaning in the presence of Hydrogen:
This cleaning method of metal consists of various parts like imposing the metal in the vacuum furnace, heating at a temperature more than 1400°C, more than the furnace temperature, periodic circulation of hydrogen gas and vacuum in the furnace by introducing fresh hydrogen in every cycle at a pressure up to 500-10,000 microns and then clearing the reaction slag produced after the reaction between hydrogen and metal surface. At last the whole hydrogen residue is removed from the furnace.
Applications of Molybdenum Wire:
In the industrial houses, molybdenum wire plays several important roles and offers vital performance in various applications.
1. Used in the light producing equipment industries like molybdenum tube molybdenum hook and rod etc.
2. The high temperature molybdenum wire is featured for automobile headlights. The small and large pressure mercury lighting rods and halogen rods equipped of quartz glass are designed for sealing in the tight molybdenum band which is especially useful to minimize the intensity of brightness of automobiles.
3. As the coefficient of thermal expansion of molybdenum wire is very high, it is vitally useful in the semiconductor industries for manufacturing transistors and other semiconductor equipments.
4. This wire is widely useful in the telephone contact components and switches.
5. The molybdenum wire made valves can tolerate enormous thermal stress so this wire incorporated with the borosilicate glass is widely used in the valve manufacturing units.
